In short. Pin Pal is free to use, with an optional Pro subscription. Your shortcuts stay yours. Pro renews automatically until you cancel, which takes a few clicks, and any charge can be refunded within 14 days. Use Pin Pal lawfully and don’t abuse the sync service.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and me, Praveen BV, a solo developer based in India who builds and runs Pin Pal (“I”, “me”, “my”). They cover the Pin Pal Chrome extension, the website at pin-pal-website.vercel.app, sync, and the Pin Pal Pro subscription (together, “Pin Pal”).
By installing or using Pin Pal, you agree to these terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Pin Pal.
Who can use Pin Pal
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pin Pal. If you’re under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian to create an account, and a parent or guardian must make any purchase.
If you use Pin Pal on behalf of an organization, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms for it.
Your licence to use Pin Pal
I give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Pin Pal for your own personal or work use, as long as you follow these terms. Pin Pal, its design, code and the Pin Pal name and logo belong to me.
You agree not to:
- copy, sell, resell or redistribute Pin Pal or Pin Pal Pro
- get around Pro checks, trial limits or other restrictions
- reverse engineer Pin Pal, except where the law allows it despite this restriction
- use automated means to send unusual amounts of data to the sync service, or deliberately try to exceed its limits
- use Pin Pal to store or share anything unlawful, or to harm others
- interfere with or try to break the security of Pin Pal or the services it uses
Your account
An account is optional. You sign in with your Google account, so its security is in your hands: keep your Google account safe and tell me if you think someone else has accessed your Pin Pal account. One account is for one person.
Your content
Your shortcuts, categories, settings and background images (“your content”) are yours. You give me a limited permission to store, copy and transmit your content only as needed to run Pin Pal for you, for example to sync it between your computers. That permission ends when you delete your content or your account.
You’re responsible for the links and images you save. Saving a link doesn’t give you or me any rights over the site it points to.
The free plan
Pin Pal’s free plan has no time limit and doesn’t need an account. It includes unlimited shortcuts, up to 15 categories, one Space, sync and every look option. I intend to keep it free. If I ever change what it includes, I’ll tell you in advance.
Pin Pal Pro
Free trial
Every new account gets 14 days of Pro free, automatically. No card is needed, nothing is charged, and the trial ends on its own, moving you to the free plan. There’s one trial per person.
Buying Pro
Pro is sold through Dodo Payments, my merchant of record. Dodo is the seller of record for your purchase: it processes your payment, charges and remits sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipts. Dodo’s own terms also apply to the payment.
Prices are shown at checkout in your currency, including any taxes, and may vary by country to reflect local purchasing power. Pro unlocks as soon as your payment goes through.
Automatic renewal
Pro is a subscription. It renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and you authorize Dodo to charge your payment method for each renewal at the price then in effect, until you cancel.
Price changes
If the price of your plan changes, I’ll tell you at least 30 days before it applies. The new price starts at your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then if you don’t want to continue.
Changing plans
Switching from monthly to yearly takes effect straight away: you’re charged the yearly price, with credit for the unused part of your month. Switching from yearly to monthly takes effect at your next billing date.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in your Pin Pal account. Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. Deleting your account cancels your subscription immediately.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Pro stays on while the payment is retried, and Pin Pal will ask you to update your card. If payment still doesn’t go through, the subscription ends and your account moves to the free plan.
When Pro ends
Ending Pro never hides or deletes anything you’ve saved. You keep everything you created with Pro; you just can’t create or edit Pro-only items until you subscribe again.
Refunds
You can get a full refund of any Pro charge if you ask within 14 days of it. See the refund policy for how.
Other services and sites
Pin Pal works inside Google Chrome and lets you sign in with Google. It shows and opens websites you choose, and shows icons for them. I don’t control those services or sites and I’m not responsible for them; your use of them is under their own terms.
Pin Pal is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Chrome, Gmail and other Google product names are trademarks of Google LLC. Other names and logos belong to their owners.
Changes and availability
I keep improving Pin Pal, so features may be added, changed or removed, and the extension updates itself through the Chrome Web Store. I’ll give you reasonable notice before removing a Pro feature you rely on.
I work to keep sync running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. Your data is always stored on your computer first, so Pin Pal keeps working offline. I recommend exporting a backup from time to time (Customize, then General, then Backup).
Feedback
If you send me ideas or feedback, I may use them to improve Pin Pal without any obligation to you.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using Pin Pal at any time: remove the extension, and delete your account from Pin Pal if you have one.
I may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect Pin Pal or other people. Where reasonable, I’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem, and to export your data.
If I ever stop offering Pro, I’ll tell you in advance and refund the unused part of any period you’ve already paid for. If I shut Pin Pal down entirely, I’ll give you notice and time to export your data.
Disclaimers
I build Pin Pal with care, but I provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, I make no promises beyond those in these terms, including that Pin Pal will be uninterrupted or error-free or that data will never be lost.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- I’m not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of Pin Pal
- my total liability to you for any claim about Pin Pal is limited to the greater of what you paid for Pin Pal in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, or US$50
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that can’t be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Your responsibility to me
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover my reasonable costs if a third party brings a claim against me because you used Pin Pal unlawfully or broke these terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you’re a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
If something goes wrong, please email me first at hello@praveenbv.com. Most problems can be solved quickly that way, and I’ll try in good faith to resolve any dispute within 30 days before either of us goes to court.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. I’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes I’ll tell you at least 30 days in advance, in Pin Pal or by email. If you keep using Pin Pal after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Pin Pal and cancel any subscription.
General
- These terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy are the whole agreement between you and me about Pin Pal.
- If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If I don’t enforce a term straight away, I haven’t given up the right to do so later.
- I may transfer this agreement as part of a sale or reorganization of Pin Pal, and I’ll tell you if that happens. You may not transfer it without my consent.
- These terms are written in English. If a translation differs, the English version applies.
